In this moment, LIMINAL SPACE | | AWASITIPAHASKAN is in the motion of unfolding and deconstructing the map.
We talk about history, physicality, geography, politics, and shared experience, all with just one line —a line that tells us “you are here and now you are there.” That line personifies and embodies infinite experiences and potentials, all fluctuating between past, present and future. The real tricky thing about mapping is to realize the severity these lines demand, and to then see beyond that space (non-space) which allows them to be so bossy and demanding. Liminal space exists woven into the thresholds of happenings. Defined by the spaces they are attached to, they allow for those spaces to be what they are. One space uses the other, one idea takes control, and we start to see the definitive order of all other things. We see what is real and we begin to disregard the other factors that hold the same, if not more, relevance to our reverence— it is as if we forget to see the paper upon which the story is written and can only marvel over the quality of the pen and ink. So much is missed.
